THE SHIFT LAB / THE JOB BETWEEN THE JOBS

Eight hours.
A lot of moving parts.

An order can look worthwhile on its own. A workday also has waiting, repositioning, breaks and the fuel used between deliveries.

FROM THE FOUNDER’S SMALL SUV

“I can use up to half a tank in an eight-hour shift. Filling up from empty costs about $80, with gas at $4.13.”

Personal example supplied by this site’s founder. Approximate costs, not a universal fuel-use claim.
01 / The workday

Use all miles in the shift, including between-order travel. Time on orders explains the timeline; earnings per hour always uses the entire shift.

02 / Fuel: pick one method

The refill cost must reflect the entered fuel price. Fuel cost = refill cost × share used. This does not establish your exact tank capacity or MPG.
